GROOMS SPEECH

I did have a great speech worked out for you today, but as I am now married, my wife has told me what to say instead.

So Joy, I would like to say that i am proud to be your son-in-law, and will live up to your expectations etc. Having lived with Becky for 2 years now, I think I am now well prepared for this.

I must say that both Terry and yourself always make me feel very welcome when I come to visit, and in view of the fact that you live so close, I don't want to say much more just in case you come and visit us.

On behalf of my wife and I. We would like thank you all for being here and sharing this special day with us. Especially those who have traveled from Germany, Australia and New Zealand. We also send our wishes to the members of our families who could not make it today. and we hope we will see them all again soon.

We would also like to thank you all very much for your cards, kind thoughts and wonderful presents. Becky  was afraid that putting a dinner service on the wedding list was not a good idea. So we discussed it and Becky suggested we should get a dishwasher, but i told her not to worry as Daniel had solved the problem, he asked me.
“Why is the Becky wearing white?"
So i told him
"So that the dishwasher matches the fridge and washing machine."

We had considered getting married abroad, but we decided we would prefer to share our day with all of you. And we are glad we did.

So may we all have a great day

We would like to thank both sets of parents as we wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for them.

We would like to thank them all for there love and support over the years. For all the advice they have given us, for putting up with us and pointing us in the right direction. Well I think it was the right direction.
Thanks to Joy for the Ketes, and My mum for helping with the Cake.

As you all know Becky has been a much sought after woman, but I'm pleased to announce the winner of the competition, me.

Becky is beautiful, intelligent, and hard working. The list of her good qualities is extremely long. Unfortunately I cannot read her handwriting.

I must thank Joy & Terry for bringing up such a lovely daughter. Oh and by the way due to the number of phone calls between Becky and her mother, One 2 One & Telecom New Zealand would also like to thank you both.

We have been planning this wedding for over a year now, although it seems like a lifetime. It has been slightly more difficult  as I have been working away from home, but thanks to everyone, everything has come together. So a big thank-you to all that have helped and to Becky who has managed so well when I haven't been around.

So, to my wife, my bride and joy. - Thank you for everything you have done.

You know everything about me and love me just the same. I have my faults, yet you still agreed to marry me. I am extremely lucky today to be the one to marry  you - and I hope this is the start of many happy years together.

I would personally like to thank Neil my Brother in law for agreeing to be my Best Man. I trust that you have not done too much research in to my past, other wise we will be snowed in for the foreseeable future.
The only trouble with being the best man at a wedding is that you never get to prove it. Though that might change if you get your hands on the Bridesmaid again tonight.

Becky and I would also like to thank Mark for helping out today.

We would also like to thank the Little Man, my Son Daniel, for being the Page Boy.

A final thank you goes to our bridesmaid. We would like to thank you for doing such a wonderful job today.
We would especially like to thank you for making such a wonderful Wedding cake.

Ladies and Gentlemen, please be upstanding. I would like to propose a toast .
” to the bridesmaid.”

Just One final thought for you before I go
A man who gives in when he is wrong is a wise man. A man who gives in when he is right is married
