General Information

1. All visitors to Ascension Island need the Administrator's written permission to do so. They must complete and return the "Ascension Island Entry Permit" prior to travelling. This form may be downloaded here (PDF format, right click and select "Save Target As...") and should be faxed back to +(247) 6152.
   
    
2. All visitors must be in possession of a full medical insurance policy which covers medical evacuation by air, if necessary. Although a policy can be bought from the Ascension Island Government Insurance office in Georgetown, visitors should note that cover under this policy is limited and for their own protection serious consideration should be given to taking out personal medical insurance before travelling. In any event pre-existing medical conditions will not be covered by the insurance policy available on the island.
